Effective Date: April 1, 2026  |  Last Updated: April 27, 2026

Synergy Family Services, Inc. ("SFS," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of visitors to our website. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit www.synergyfamilyservices.org (the "Site"), how we use it, and your rights with respect to that information.

This policy applies to website visitors only. It does not govern the collection or use of protected health information (PHI) by SFS as a licensed outpatient mental health provider. PHI is governed separately by our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, available upon request.

1. Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide Directly

We collect information you voluntarily submit through the Site, including:

  • Contact forms: name, email address, phone number, and message content

  • Appointment and referral requests: contact details and relevant background information

  • Newsletter sign-up: first name, last name, and email address

B. Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, our hosting platform (Wix) and analytics tools may automatically collect:

  • IP address and general geographic location

  • Browser type and version

  • Pages viewed, time on site, and referring URL

  • Device type and operating system

This data is collected through cookies and similar tracking technologies. See Section 5 for details.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Respond to inquiries, appointment requests, and referrals

  • Send our monthly e-newsletter to subscribers who have opted in

  • Improve Site performance and user experience

  • Comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

3. How We Share Your Information

We may share your information with:

  • Service providers that operate the Site on our behalf (e.g., Wix), subject to confidentiality obligations

  • Legal or regulatory authorities, when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of SFS or others

Any sharing is limited to what is necessary for the stated purpose.

4. Sensitive Information

Our website contact and referral forms may ask about mental health needs. This information is used solely to connect you with appropriate services. It is not used for marketing and is treated with the highest level of care.

If you become a client of SFS, your clinical information is protected under HIPAA and our Notice of Privacy Practices, which supersedes this policy for that data.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The Site uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — to support site functionality and analytics. Types include:

  • Essential cookies: required for the Site to operate properly

  • Analytics cookies: used to understand how visitors interact with the Site (e.g., via Wix Analytics)

You may control cookie settings through your browser. Disabling certain cookies may limit Site functionality. We do not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals at this time.

6. Third-Party Links and Social Media

The Site contains links to third-party platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Once you leave our Site, this Privacy Policy no longer applies. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

7. Children's Privacy

This Site is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through our website. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us so we can delete it.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. Newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe. You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 10).

9. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information submitted through the Site. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

  • Access the personal information we hold about you

  • Request correction of inaccurate information

  • Request deletion of your information

  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time by clicking "Unsubscribe" in any email or contacting us directly

Maryland residents may have additional rights under the Maryland Online Data Privacy Act (MODPA), effective October 1, 2025. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information in Section 12.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
